First let me say, Adulting is hard and frankly, it’s for the birds! Whoever came up with an 8 hour work day had absolutely nothing better to do and must have put a curse on my family! But every day I wake up, I’m constantly thinking of another way to increase my savings account and comfortably retire in my 30s! Why? Well it’s simple. While the people we love are priceless and the best things in life are free, everything else has a price tag!

As some of us prepare for a long holiday weekend, let us reflect on the positive fact that we currently have a job during such an unprecedented, unpredictable time. Now let us have a moment of silence for the co-worker we secretly wish would retire or get a new job far, far away before the new work week begins.

All my childhood I was taught, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!” Now, because of this theory, I realize that I have been suffering from a disorder – Biting My Tongue. It’s a disorder that I, like many others suffer from. The side effects include overactive brain, emotional distress, and sudden urges to drink. Well today, I would like to announce that I am on the road to recovery!

Growing and Grieving
Back in 2019 I remember telling people that I was a work in progress and that I would try to be better with my smart mouth and petty ways in 2020. So many times we find ourselves – as moms, sisters, friends – apologizing because of how someone else received something. We’re so quick to hit that “I’m sorry” just so the conversation will end and the problem or person will go away. But what that creates is the expectation that you will always do that. A Proposal Story
Every time I meet a married or engaged couple, I tend to ask, “How did he propose?” Not only is it a conversation starter, but it also tells you a little bit about the person – their planning expertise, their thoughtfulness, or even their spontaneous nature!
